A Ranking of Worldwide Tourist Attractions Based on the Cognitive Recognition of Emotional Facial Expressions

We collected tourist photos at different tourist sites from Flickr to extract and calculate the human emotion conditions. Based on the results, a ranking list of tourist sites is created according to the human emotion. We also explored the environmental factors that influence human emotions.
Mapping the Sensitivity of the Public Emotion to the Movement of Stock Market Value: A Case Study of Manhattan

We collected photos at Manhattan, New York and calculated the human emotion conditions in these photos. We compared the fluctuation of the human emotion and stock market values, and created a sensitivity map between the two attributes. Results show that human emotions are related to the stock market change and those regions with more financial companies are more sensitive to the stock change.

We utilized YFCC100 dataset to extract and calculate human emotion from facial expressions. We created a worldwide map to show the human emotion around the world and to explore the spatial-temporal distribution of human emotions. We take several demographic attributes including ethnicity, age and gender into consideration.
Big Data based Multi-Scale Human Emotion Spatio-temporal Distribution

In this project, we aim at proposing a framework which utilize multi-source data, including street view images, texts and photos, and deep learning technologies to explore the human emotions. We will explore the human emotions from different scales including communities, citis and countries. We hope to know what and how environmental factors can influence human emotions.
